Inadequate natural conditions Shandong has achieved the largest papermaking province
Release:Qinyang GuoRui PaperMaking Machinery Co., Ltd. Browsing:1200 Release time:2022-12-01

Recently, the list of China's top 500 companies was released, among which there are five companies in the paper industry, namely Nine Dragons Paper, Chenming Paper, Hengan International, Sun Paper, and Huatai Paper. Seeing this list, I do not know if everyone is the same as Xiao Bian. Three of the five papermaking industries that are curious to be on the list are all from Shandong.

In this regard, Xiao Bian specifically reviewed the data and found that Shandong's paper production has ranked first in the country for 19 consecutive years. As the country's largest papermaking province, Shandong's paper industry production capacity accounts for 1/6 of the entire industry. The province has a total of more than 200 pulp and paper companies. In 2013, the province produced 17.8 million tons of paper and paperboard, which accounted for 17.6% of the country's total output. How, Shandong is a veritable papermaker.

In fact, although Shandong is currently the largest province in the papermaking industry, we can think of Shandong as an innate condition in the paper industry. Water shortages, lack of trees, and lack of raw materials have always been a major problem for the paper industry in Shandong. However, after transformation and innovation, Shandong has still made the largest papermaking province. Therefore, for the enterprise, there is no hardship to make. The key is to find a way out for yourself.

Take the development mode of circular economy

Although the weather conditions are insufficient, we can still find a way to find a transition. Water shortage, lack of trees, lack of raw materials, then take a conservation-oriented, circular economy model.

Shandong Quanlin Paper Co., Ltd. has spent a lot of time turning waste into treasure, that is, using crop straws as raw materials to build a circular economy that focuses on “one use of grass and three uses” and “resources of production process resources”. mode.

In fact there are many companies that use straw to turn waste into treasure, such as Chenming Paper. In general, the straw's final end of the crop is burned, and it also produces pollution. However, if the company uses paper, it is a precious raw material.

In addition, Chenming Paper also attaches great importance to the use of waste paper. In the raw material field of the company's annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of white cow paperboard factory, we can see that many cartons that are compressed into one meter square are neatly stacked to form a “wastepaper wall”. And these waste paper boxes will eventually be made into packing boxes.

The data shows that one ton of waste paper = 800 kg of recycled paper = 20 trees. According to this calculation, companies can save more than 10 million trees each year. Therefore, taking a conservation-oriented and cyclical development path can not only create a development path for the company itself, but also contribute to the improvement of the entire environment. So why not do it?

Rely on independent innovation to enhance the value chain

Speaking of innovation, Shandong Sun Paper has done a remarkable job in this area. According to the data, Sun Paper's EBIT was as high as 47% in the early years, and its internal rate of return was even more than 13%. Even many foreign paper companies are puzzling about this.

In fact, what many paper industry "remembers" is the world's first dissolved pulp continuous cooking technology pioneered by Sun Paper. This technology successfully extracted food-grade xylose, xylitol, and feed-grade papaya from the dissolving pulp hydrolyzate, and became the first company to use this process to produce food-grade additives.

Not only that, the xylose products refined by this technology are just by-products of the dissolving pulp. Dissolving pulp is used as a kind of special chemical pulp for the production of high-purity ecological fibers. It is mainly used for the manufacture of textile raw materials. Most of them are sold to textile companies for the production of high-end garments. The cost per ton of pulp is 9,000 yuan. After "drawing" into apparel fabrics, the price can even double.

Therefore, it is not difficult to understand why Sunray Paper has been able to maintain its status as a Fortune 500 company for the past few years. Not only that, it was also named the top 10 papermaking industry in Shandong in 2011, and it has achieved 10.895 billion in revenue this year.

Adjust structure and develop new business models

Without constant development, in terms of papermaking, adjustment of product structure and the development of new business models are crucial. I believe many companies have also adjusted the traditional papermaking model.

For example, Sun Paper made adjustments in its product structure because it took a look at the demand for domestic paper in China and the huge gap between the United States and the gradual release of the second child. Sun Paper has also accelerated the development of FMCG products, mainly in the market of household paper, wet wipes and diapers.

In addition, a new model for sales through e-commerce has also been formed, namely, cooperation with online sales platforms such as Jingdong Mall and No. 1 Store. The data shows that the market share of Sun Paper's electronic sales has reached 20%.

The same is the structure of the adjustment, Huatai Paper is to adopt a continuous market segmentation, deep-rooted "main battlefield" approach. Originally, Huatai was mainly engaged in the production of newsprint, but due to the decline of the traditional paper media, it is currently choosing to lengthen the industrial chain and focus on the exquisite packaging and high-end printing paper market with higher profits and brighter prospects.
